Why Do You Need to Reset an Xfinity Modem?

Performing an Xfinity Modem Reset

Before you reset your Xfinity Modem, you must know that the reset will erase all your previously configured settings.   3. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and then release it.

After the reset is done, you can log into the modem using the default login credentials and reconfigure the modem. All you need to do is first connect the modem to a computer either wirelessly or using an Ethernet cable. If you are using the wired connection, connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of your computer and the other to one of the LAN ports of your modem. Once the connection is established, use the Xfinity default gateway login to log into the admin console of the device.
